Seasonal rituals & wisdom for the earth year.
Do you believe in ghosts?
When I was a kid, I lived in an old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. There was a great big red barn behind the house and 100 year old cottonwood trees all over the property. All the homes in this area were separated by acres of land. The nights were bright with stars and the days filled with the sounds of insects and birds abuzz in the trees. Every year in the late fall, enormous orb weaver spiders would build webs that hung from the eaves over every window. Our house was a ranch style home that had a basement. Part of it was finished and part of it was not. The unfinished part was windowless and filled with stuff: old toys from childhood, my parent's year books, boxes of books, forgotten furniture, heirlooms and more. In the farthest back, right corner of that room was a door. |
