Healing with our ancient connection with nature

Are you having trouble sleeping?

I was working with a client, the other day and she asked how to calm her anxiety before bed as she was having trouble sleeping.

I think most of us can relate to this.
The spinning thoughts and body tension that can follow us into the sleeping hours.

Sometimes we can be awoken by our minds in the middle of the night, and it will keep us up for hours.

That tension, shallow breathing, worry, anxiety, fear, restlessness...these are all signs of a Nervous System on overdrive.

This feeling can come from current situations, past experiences, past traumas, future thinking and more (being human)!

This is a common thing I work on with people when we are doing Energy Healing, we clear out stuff that often disrupts our inner peace such as other people's energy, outdated beliefs and disregulating energetic patterns, to name a few.

There are many ways to help calm our nervous system, I think you will find the exercise below a helpful tool for your "increased enjoyment in life" toolbox.
As promised, here is a Quick Tip to help you regulate your Nervous System, to help you feel calmer, more hopeful and to help you sleep better.

Dr. James Gordon in his book The Transformation, calls this technique "Soft Belly".
  • From where you are right now, close your eyes and begin to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
  • Let your belly be soft and full and expansive.
  • Begin to let your body and mind relax.
  • Start at your feet and work your way up imagining all the muscles relaxing.
  • If your mind begins to wander, let them come and go and bring your mind back to the words "soft...belly.." or any other words that feel soothing.
  • Allow yourself 10-20 minutes.
  • When you are done let yourself come back to the room by opening your eyes
Let me know if you try this and how it goes!
In gratitude,

Lark
