Healing with our ancient connection with nature

Summer Solstice Earth Healing Ritual

6/18/2018

Mid summer has arrived with its hot breath and radiant warmth. Gardens are brimming with the first vegetables of the season and the world seems to be filled with technicolor delights.

The sun is at its pinnacle and we enjoy days that seem endless with light. Here we pause at the precipice before taking the slow walk back toward the darker half of the year.

We move into a more expanded awareness at this time of year. Our senses seem heightened we feel the outward pull of the sun toward abundance, beauty and earth pleasures.

The summer solstice is celebrated by many cultures and traditions around the world with the central emphasis being on the power of the sun. The sun is a strengthener and essential to our well being. It is closely connected to our health and the fertility of the land.

During this sacred time, filled with magic and abundance, there is a plethora of opportunity to energize our magical practices, spells and intentions, as well as our tools for healing, such as crystals, herbal oils, amulets, drums rattles and more.

The Summer Solstice is a perfect time to honor and  heal the Earth. She needs our presence, our attention and our love.

Wait for the first night you feel the call of the mystery so strongly that you are lifted up and out of your bed into the chorus of frog and insect, out into the wild night.

Wait until you feel your body changing, because the you have become one with the rhythms of the rising and setting sun.

Wait until you no longer have a grand fear of the night and being outside because outside has infiltrated to the very core of your being from long days spent in the warmth and plentitude of the sun and in the deep, drink of shadowy shade.

Wait until the very heart of summer, when the plants cry out to you from every corner of the landscape. Wait until the cacophony is so loud you can not sleep through it or ignore it any longer.

Wait until you have shed part of your inhibitions of the winter season and have exchanged them decidedly for pleasure and joy.

Then, go to her. Go to the very earth that you make your home on. Talk to her under the bright of a grand full moon or alternately under the glitter of a new moon sky. Go to her and weep. Offer your tears and your understanding of her pain.

Ask for her forgiveness but then let her hold you for as long as it is needed. Let yourself fill with contentment. Feel the way she rises up to meet you. Feel how she is of you and you her. Feel how there are no gaps, and run your hands over the seamlessness of her surface.

Give her, for these precious moments between time, your body, your spirit and your heartbeat. Give to her your sincerity and your consciousness. Let them merge.

Then whisper this invocation to her. Know that it seeps through you and into the land. Know that it is of you and that this reciprocal relationship is what creates the grand, luminous beauty, within her and within you.

Afterward, offer her wine soaked cherries, peppermint tea, or the amethyst you have tucked into your pocket for protection and safe passage.

An Invocation to Gaia Earth: An Earth Honoring Ritual

To earth, to Earth, to Gaia, to our home planet and all the beings and spirits that inhabit this place.....may you feel the love and devotion we have for you.

Let our love and honoring fill you. Become part of you. Gaia, thank you for your abundance, thank you for your spirits and sprites, your weather and green growing things. Thank you for the food we eat and the animals we tend.

Mother, we are your children, you sustain us and nourish us with your love. We can not go anywhere, we can not be anything but your loyal and loving, beloveds.

Great Terra, the ground beneath our feet that grows green plants, we honor you and see you.

Monde, with your wild beasts and diversity of life, we honor and see you.

Soil, with your microbes, fungus and mycelium, we honor and see you.

Clay, blood of of our bodies and home to our ashes, we honor and see you.

Planet, of your waters, clear and true, we honor and see you.

May we always see you as sacred. May we never take you for granted.

May we have gratitude within our hearts as we harvest your abundance.

Mother, Earth, Terra, Monde, Planet, Globe, Soil, Clay thank you for holding us, supporting us and nourishing us. We bless you. We devote ourselves to your care.

Blessed be.

May the Season of Light uplift you and vitalize your life.

Love,
Lark
